Music is art, an expression of the soul without ego. Although I play fretless bass, my intention is to put a band together of like-minded individuals of any age who understand the concept of what it takes, and the sacrifices involved to create the art of sound. My son plays guitar and wants music to be his career, but the voice in his head says ' your not good enough yet - keep practicing'. Joining a band will create its own inertia, which will improve the individual's musicianship and cultivate new ideas, even if that means a change of band members along the way, but that's where progress begins and great things emerge.
