ABOUT

Of myself........ or just on how I play on drums...??

Ive played drums for about 1 and a haif years, I always had a ambition to play drums then my mate got a kit for him own self produced album and I ended up goin to his house every single day to play on it till I got my own.
A few other mates of myn ,also at the same time wanted to start a band after getting real up on it all after watching 24hour party people and we ended up playing for about a year making real dark post punk/ grundge tunes that im now starting to stray away from.

I use to train at Paramount ABC boxing club a few years back, but have sacked that in for putting in more time to play drums with a band, whitch was quite a crazy sacrifice at the time since I was reaching a great point in tournament levels...... But I much prefer the lifestyle of living as a mussician :D
My main ambition to be a drummer is to just entertain, thats how ive always been since a kid is as a entertainer, and want people leaving the gigs and venues to be enlightened and happy after a good performance. Also the chance to get around and go to new places on the road is somthing im desperate to do so I can get out of this place.

Influences

Mainly manchester based Musik:
Joy Division and Stone Roses; I love Ian curtis's on stage dark phychedlic inigma, his live performance of Transmision is so intense. Love the great sounds of the Roses and it really makes you appreciate how important a great drummer ( Reni ) has on a band in terms of creating the alround musik vibe of a group. Only really now propper acceptin Oasis, love Noel's songs about escapism out of Manchester.

I can only be botherd to write so much of how many bands I really like, but heres few of my Drumming influences :

Foo Fighters : Ofcourse Dave Grohl also Taylour Hawkins

The Who: Kieth Kieth Moon!! The Album "Who's Next" Is for me the most vibrant imense sound you can make out of a drum kit. My all time favourate.

Buddy Rich: WoW!

Wolfmother: Great Metal at its best, Myeles Haskett a brilliant Drummer.

Arctic Monkeys: Great lyrics not much of a lyric man myself but these by Alex Turner really stand out. Matt Helders Is a fu*kin good drummer I also relate to him how he never took a drummin lesson and still turned out great. A real Modern Idol for me.
