ABOUT

Formed in the late part of 2000, with the simple goal to deliver fast, brutal, aggressive music to a thrash starved underground scene.

In the early days the band listened mainly to Sepultura, Slayer, Overkill, Testament and Exodus though their early music showed that there was more to the band than copying their favourite artist’s styles. In the later days as new members came along each brought their individual style to the band including influences such as Pantera, In Flames, Machine Head and Arch Enemy.

With a well rehearsed set and hundreds of shows under their belt, where support slots with “Return to the Sabbat”, “ColdBlooded”, “Vae Solis”, “Gore”, “The Enchanted”, Casket Music bands “Landmine Spring” and “Age of Ruin” and a UK tour with “W.A.K.O” were the highlight. Helgrind deliver a fast, aggressive sound and have started causing mayhem in the pit with their no-nonsense brutal pounding speed and included “Dungeon Fest IV”, “Day of Despair 1” along the way.

Helgrind appeals to all metal music fans, their music crosses between Thrash, Death and Black Metal with diverse melodic undertows and an aggressive vocal sound that carry the ethos of the band to higher statures and charge the band with the determination and brutality that was true in Helgrind from the beginning.

The band has appeared on Terrorizer cover mounts five times in the last four years and on various metal radio stations worldwide.

2002, Helgrind recorded their first demo “Prophecy of Destruction”

2005, Release of the first full demo “Denial” nine track album released through their own distribution and sold at shows across the UK and to the world through their website.

2007, Helgrind signed to Casket Music and promptly recorded and released “Fallen Prophet” four new thrash tracks to allow the scene to see what was coming their way. Shows soon racked up with The Underworld, Camden highlighting the bands ability to play on the big stage.

2008 sees the release of a second full album from Helgrind after teaming up once again with Dave Chang. The album “Religious Persecution“ has thirteen new songs all written after reading reviews from previous releases and listening to the fan base, the band truly feel they have found the true Helgrind sound and have something they can use as a template for future releases.

"Religious Persecution" is about the amount of hatred that the human race suffers through their beliefs. How we are ethically told not to harm one another, yet find it so easy to go against our system of belief to kill in gods name.

All the songs on "Religious Persecution" have a meaning prejudice or personal sacrifice for something you believe in and the persecution won't end until all the lies have been heard and shown for what they are.

"A Helgrind show is not for the feint hearted as they cause mayhem in the pit with their no-nonsense brutal pounding speed and aggressive rhythms, so get down the front, wreck sh*t up and don't forget your neckbrace!!!!!"
