I have recently moved to the Bedfordshire area and am putting some feelers out with regard to doing some gigs, mostly for fun but a bit of money would be good too.
I play guitar, bass and drums, I've got a good voice and a great ear for harmonies. I can sing lead and/or harmonise well whilst playing.
I have loads of experience playing in bands, mostly pub gigs but have also toured in my youth and also spent some time on a West End musical.

Influences
My first love has always been and always will be classic 60's pop - Beatles, Beach Boys, Monkees, Motown. I've also played a lot of country & bluegrass in my time (grew up listening to that stuff). I've played a lot of Rock & Roll/rockabilly. I also like swing and the more accessible end of Jazz. And I like late 80's indie stuff - REM, Smiths, Stone Roses, etc.
NOT into endless blues jams, don't mind the blues as long as it's song based.
NOT into heavy rock (or even "classic" rock, Hendrix, Clapton, Purple, etc leave me totally cold).
NOT into electronica, I love guitars.
Basically, I like songs.
On guitar I play bright & jangly on chords/rhythm and twangy on lead. I seldom, if ever use distortion, prefer reverb & tremolo.
On electric bass I play a Telecaster/early P bass copy with flatwound strings. Influences there are James Jamerson, Carol Kaye and Paul McCartney. I also have a fretless acoustic. I can play double bass but I don't own one.
On drums I play steady, non-flashy rhythm, not interested in loads of fills, I like to serve the song.

Nameless kit I got cheap from ebay, decent Tama snare, good cymbals (Paiste, Zildjan). I have the lower heads off of the toms and the front skin off of the kick drum. Nice, deadened sound, very easy to mic.
