ABOUT

Can play guitar moderately good, but always looking to improve (some demos here and others then on that YT account). Can keep good time and rhythm on acoustic, especially if someone else does the singing.

Unfortunately struggle to pick up the guitar much these days for practice or fun but would be interested to meet others to practise with, drums, bass, and vocalists to get my interest back with some purpose behind it. Someone to do the singing is one of the main things if you did want a decent act to eventually gig or record.

I’ve been mad about music (all kinds of genres) over the years. Don’t mind doing some backing, but not really into lead vocals.

Interested in casual practice first, perhaps with a view of small gigs, band or who knows what. Played with a band before, and smaller acoustic sets with singers, few gigs of various shapes and sizes, and a bit of online stuff, all’s been well received really.

Influences

I tend to favour female vocalists if I was to pick favourites ever, some of those being, Tracy Chapman, Skin (Skunk Anansie). Think it’s better to have a mix of musicians rather than all male/female groups.

I like anything really, soul, modern music, classic rock, pop, funk. I really liked a lot of the 80s music as well. You have to play to your audience though, and generally that’ll mean popular songs that are at least current or that people generally know. I might like some obscure songs or artist but dont mean any crowd will.

EQUIPMENT

Have some mics, PA gear as well for louder performances enough for a pub, larger hall or smaller venues.

Lots of guitars, electric and acoustic, that can be amplified or played unplugged. I do dabble with bass guitar as well.
