SEEKINGDrums, Other Percussion, Trumpet, Keyboard, Piano, Background Singer, Accordion, Ukulele.
I've mainly been a solo home studio musician for many years, recorded and released an independent album 'One Way Ticket' in 2006. I write my own material, sing and play guitar and a little piano/keyboards, bass, etc...
Looking for musicians to create a band or duo with centred around my original songs to record together and start out playing live on the streets then take it from there. So bass, drums, keys, backing vocals and also would be good to work with celloist, violinist, accordion or brass players.

Why Do You Run
Why Do You RunOriginally written in 2008, this version began to take shape in Milan in the summer of 2011, following on from the version earlier in the year in Budapest. The apartment we were staying in had a piano which was recorded first and the rest of the track built around that, with ukulele and maracas being added In Nice a month later, drums being put together in Paris in October 2011 and finally acoustic guitar, melodica and vocals were recorded in Budapest, April 2012, where it was also mixed. This is the first completed song of a collection we are working on and this version is getting closer to the sound and vibe of the song as we see it and we will continue to develop the song as and when we are able to in order to realise this vision. Why do you run, do you run, from the one, I wonder Moving out from the sun, lost in things that you've done no longer Come home, come home, come home, come home There's a million ways to get what you want How much longer will you play? How much more do you want? And the drum of time is beating down Suffering will surely come Why do you run, do you run, from the one, I wonder Moving out from the sun, lost in things that you've done no longer Come home, come home, come home, come home All those lonely nights Now it's time to jump There's no end in sight Until you hit the bump No need for you to walk that road When thy will be done So why do you run, do you run, from the one, I wonder Moving out from the sun, lost in things that you've done no longer Come home, come home, come home, come home Please come home I'm telling you it's fun So why do you run, run run Why do you run...
Walking Through A Postcard (Sketches of Europa Version)
Walking Through A Postcard (Sketches of Europa Version)Written in Salzburg, Austria in May 2011. This 'studio version' features piano recorded in Milan and ukulele and maracas recorded in Nice, with vocals and melodica added this year while in Budapest. Mountain talk to me please Trees stand so tall with their leaves I could be anywhere but I'm here I will go anywhere that you take me to Mozart stands outside Birds singing hymns and the river cries In a restaurant they all sit tonight As I walk by everytime and hear the scream inside Outside Walking through a postcard Nothing like it seems Walking through a postcard Living endless dream And I'm waiting for it to begin Let it all flood in Let it come to pass Make it happen fast Cross the bridge to eat Hunger for the things we see A vision softly shimmering in the breeze How much longer till it's realised Release this please Walking through a postcard Nothing like it seems Walking through a postcard Living endless dream Walking through a postcard Nothing like it seems Walking through a postcard Living endless dream And I'm waiting for it to begin Let it all flood in Let it come to pass Make it happen fast
GiudeccaInspired by a stay on the island of Giudecca (Venice) in the summer of 2011 and written there on ukulele. The track was recorded over the course of a year and features piano recorded in Milan, maracas in Nice, ukulele in Paris, drum track programmed in Berlin, with guitars, vocals and harmonica recorded in Budapest throughout the spring/summer of 2012. Giudecca Giudecca Giudecca Giudecca Giudecca Giudecca Giudecca Giudecca I can't know what you know Show me how to go with your flow Your breeze washes my skin Your waves surround me within Giudecca Giudecca Giudecca Giudecca Giudecca Giudecca Giudecca Giudecca I walk to the edge I sit in the sun on your bench I walk to the edge Leave behind what I forget Giudecca Giudecca Giudecca Giudecca Giudecca Giudecca Giudecca Giudecca Fast asleep Why can't they see Fast asleep Awaken me I walk through the streets Your silence sustains me And the birds look so proud And I don't know quite how Like the land I'm alone Cast away all the bad that I've known Cast away all the bad that I've known Cast away all the bad that I've known Giudecca Giudecca Giudecca Giudecca Giudecca Giudecca Giudecca Giudecca Walk along the promenade Walk along the empty streets Walk along the promenade See the people see the feet Giudecca Giudecca Giudecca Giudecca Giudecca Giudecca Giudecca Giudecca And you strip me to the bone And you teach me to unknow With a rhythm of your own I will leave here with my own Recharge me Recharge me Recharge me Recharge me (Giudecca Giudecca Giudecca Giudecca) Recharge me...
Italian SaturdayWritten in the summer of 2011 on the island of Giudecca, Venice, our first stop in Italy. We had no idea what we were going to do with this song at that point but recorded a ukulele track in our apartment with the windows open where the sound of a boat passing was picked up along with the water. This simple ukulele track became the basis for the rest of the recording. In Milan a few months later we added piano and in Nice the maracas and additional ukulele. It was some time before we were able to work on the track again, and in Budapest, March 2012, we recorded the hand drum track. Finally, the vocals and melodica were recorded in August 2012 in Spello, Italy and the song mixed in Perugia in September. Giudecca Florence Torino We're on this train We're on our way Give me just a little more time Give me just a little more time On this Italian Saturday (Italian Saturday) For water and sun This land we're on The winter has been and gone Now nothing here can go wrong On this Italian Saturday (Italian Saturday) Italian Saturday (Italian Saturday) The sun will set like these troubles will disappear And all that you went through to get where you want to be On this Italian Saturday (Italian Saturday) Italian Saturday (Italian Saturday) The mask comes off Music turns on Give me just a little more time Give me just a little more On this Italian Saturday And I can take the heat When there's water all around me And I won't be defeated Not now On this Italian Saturday (Italian Saturday) Italian Saturday (Italian Saturday) Roma a Spello Foligno Perugia Milano San Remo
Karl-Marx-Allee"Karl-Marx-Allee" is one of the first SoulJahm songs to come into being. Shortly after acquiring our instruments in Vienna, February 2011, we headed to Budapest the following month. Two brand new songs came very quickly and effortlessly within the space of a few days - "Suzanne" and "Karl-Marx-Allee". The song documents our first winter in Berlin staying in various apartments in Friedrichshain where Karl-Marx-Allee is the main boulevard running through the area and which we'd have to make many long walks through the snow and "freezing cold". Later in the year when we reached Milan, we began creating this 'Sketches of Europa' version and recorded the piano tracks building the rest of the song around them. In Nice a month later ukulele, maracas and handclaps were recorded in a tiny, sweatbox of an apartment! The complete opposite of the environment the song speaks of. The drum track was put together in an apartment we stayed in for 3 days in Paris while we were going through one of our chaotic periods and our cases were beginning to fall apart. Melodica was recorded in Budapest during the summer of 2012 and finally the vocals were put down in Bologna just after Christmas 2012 before the song was mixed in Ventimiglia. When you walk alone but you're not alone When you say the word but you seldom talk Karl-Marx-Allee brings you to me When you open doors in the freezing cold Such a long way home still we take the road Karl-Marx-Allee brings you to me Karl-Marx-Allee feel so happy They're shooting rockets to the sky From my bunker I ask why To awaken into your own life when you're playing dead See the tower up ahead and I feel like I'm ready So I look to the window and I'm sure I am sure Karl-Marx-Allee brings you to me Karl-Marx-Allee feel so happy Karl-Marx-Allee feel so happy Karl-Marx-Allee always with me When you walk alone Alone Alone When you walk alone....
Voice (Sketches of Europa Version)
Voice (Sketches of Europa Version)Written near the end of 2007, "Voice" was put aside for a few years before emerging again for the 'Sketches of Europa' sessions. Recording began with piano in Barcelona, September 2011. Over the following months overdubs were added - acoustic guitar and vocals in Budapest, summer 2012 before some final touches in Ventimiglia, March 2013 where the song was also mixed. Count the rain on bus window panes We'll come up again Take away my pain make me whole again I promise you I'll... Hear the voice of ancients The voice speak clearly The voice Don't waste away a second chance Now you're lost You brought me into this world And paid the cost I hope you find dreams of another kind To help you Hear the voice of ancients The voice speak clearly The voice Ain't no religion gonna be big enough To take away my pain and heal me again And as the dust settles and the cold comes upon my bones You're still in my heart I can't runaway from who I am and neither can you But in stormy weather I remember what I promised you Your body given back to the earth And I could... Hear the voice of ancients The voice speak clearly The voice The voice of ancients The voice speak clearly The voice
Magica Fountain"Magica Fountain" is one of the earliest SoulJahm songs, written in Budapest, April 2011, on ukulele. It came after "Karl-Marx-Allee" and "Suzanne", which were the first SoulJahm songs, written in March 2011. The title of the song came from Barcelona and the Font Màgica. Later in the year of 2011 we were able to put down a piano and drum track in Milan, part of the 'Sketches Of Europa' sessions. Some further recording was done in 2012 and then the song lay abandoned for 4 years. In Edinburgh 2016 it was finally finished up. Guitars, synths, cajon and vocals were added and the song mixed.
