ABOUT

A blast on the trombone, the wistful strains of a violin, and into the circusring lurches another vaudevillian cockney geezer from the songbook of Gorgeous George. The next sixty minutes will be like punch-up at an unlicensed Eastern Bloc horse race, as the band sets off at a lung-busting gallop, melodies and rhythms flying from innumerable instruments like the screams and pistol fire of a drunken gypsy crowd. And in the midst of it all, a slyly observed tale of life, love and wrongdoing (or aftershave and football
results) will emerge, sung in perfect South London council estate cockneyese.

This is Gorgeous George - with a sound as new as this Saturday night lashed to a thousand years of European folk melody. It’ll make you jump around like a drunken fool, but it might just give you something to think about over your fry-up too.

Last year was a blinder for Gorgeous George who released their debut EP

‘Saturday Night’ in November and joined folk raconteur Beans On Toast
during his ‘Live Album Tour’ across the UK following a summer of raucous  performances at Bestival, Secret Garden Party, Wilderness and Nozstock.

With Madness’ Chrissy Boy enlisted as producer, Gorgeous George are
preparing to release a second EP in March before embarking on their first headline tour of the UK. The festival favourites will also be returning to fields up and down the country during the summer months with a busy schedule of appearances.

Gorgeous George are a band who love to perform live in front of a crowd and this is really when they are at there best.
