We are an up and coming band from Nottinghamshire (Bassetlaw) inspired by the likes of Slash, Led Zep, Gary Moore, Allman Brothers and various other soul/rhythm & blues artists. We are looking to fuse these sounds/genres together to create our own sound whilst paying respects to the greats. Our members currently consist of: Charlie Birchall on drums, Luke Hunt on rhythm and lead guitar and Patrick Leighton-Hennessy also on rhythm and lead guitar.
We are looking for a powerful and soulful singer. We expect you to write the vast majority of lyrics and the vocal melody for each song too. It would also help if you can sing and play an instrument (keys, bass and it would help if you are able to play the guitar too) .
We are also in need of a bass player. You need to be a bass player, who is more than capable of playing/creating interesting basslines, where you play more than just the root notes (though we do appreciate that of course).
Finally we need a keys player, who can play both piano and organ. Of course owning an organ would be fantastic but realistically we recognise a well priced synth keyboard will do the job.
If you are comfortable enough to do backing vocals that is a huge plus too.
We find improvisation heavily important to the live experience and would expect you to be able to do so at a high level, as we strive to be a jam band, but will keep the basic structure for most of our songs.
As a person we want you to be inspired, confident, reliable, presentable, down to earth, technically proficient, know your music theory (site reading not needed), have an appreciation for dynamics, know your musical spacing, has dedication, is willing to step out of their comfort zone and most importantly you need to be able to give constructive criticism and be open to taking it just as good.
Preferred age: 18-25
Helpful for gigging if you can drive.
Please note that songs listed below are all originals done for our college coursework and at the time were a rough idea of what we wanted them to become. Also the singer was only temporary and isn't necessarily a singer(please focus on the guitar and drumming).
We are a constantly evolving and improving musical force so the videos might not be an accurate representation of our ability when you first jam with us (hopefully were quite a bit better).
