Looking for another singer/songwriter/guitarist and a drummer/percussionist to join me writing some songs for jamming as well as working towards forming an acoustic band for busking-type performance. Could look at other things like strings as well if we wanted potentially. I'm 39 but am relatively flexible on age, more important that we enjoy playing together and have similar outlook etc.
I mainly play my own stuff which I suppose is a indie/rock/grunge/folk sort of affair. I am looking for someone to try joint lead vocals with so we could try some different structures switching lead/backing, singing together and working on some harmonising too. Looking to have two guitars in there, probably two acoustics although could have an electric in there sometimes to do some overlays with delay or other effects. I also like the idea of unconventional percussion or maybe a light-weight drumkit, just so it's a bit interesting and the acoustics aren't totally drowned basically. Recording would be good in time too, I have a bit of gear.
I suppose I've been brought up on 90's rock/alternative/metal but listen to allsorts and don't want to feel constrained by genre and would like to try spanning across rock/pop/folk/psychedelia or others, whatever sounds good. I love the way The Cure sort of come in and out of the shadows like that with their stuff for instance.
In terms of performance, I thought perhaps trying to set up as a busking band in random locations around Brighton like Preston Park is a possibility as doesn't carry the commitment factor of venues and more flexible, but we can see what works later. I think this could all be a lot of fun so give me a shout if you're interested!
