The project was born in summer 2006 as a collaboration between The Vinyl Gibbon & Sarai Jazz. Bringing together an eclectic fusion of piano, synthesizers and percussion, with the warm nostalgic voice of Sarai. All of our songs are original compositions inspired by Jazz and Latin music, with an experimental and contemporary edge.
The music for the Jazz on Vinyl Project is composed and recorded in Brighton at The Vinyl Gibbons studio, then prepared for vinyl pressing by silencing parts that will be played in the live performance. Tracks are added for vocal harmonies, brass sections and percussion, with space for a live jam.
