ABOUT

Looking for like-minded people into music with a roots/folk/country-rock bias to play material anywhere from an original electric take on traditional folk, the Afro Celts or The Imagined Village, to the likes of Richard Thompson, Steve Earle, Dixie Chicks, Tom Petty, Dylan - anything we all like that can be given that roots-ish edge.

The idea is that it should be a lot of fun but deadly serious when it comes to getting tight and putting on a good show. The aim is a relaxed but highly professional outfit that can handle subtle arrangements but also has the energy to blow people out of their boots, whether it's in pubs, clubs or at festivals.

It's still a project in the early stages, but so far I have a bassist (me) a drummer/vocalist and mandolin/bouzouki player on board - both of them play in my current band, so I know they're good players (and nice blokes!) The eventual line-up will depend on who we can get, but we need a great female vocalist, a good acoustic and/or electric guitar player plus (maybe) fiddle, squeezebox and anything else that sounds interesting.

If you're writing your own material with this kind of feel and approach, and would like to be able to gig it - even better.

If any of that's of interest, and you live within a sensible distance of Redhill in Surrey, please get in touch.
