ABOUT

I've been playing Bass for more than 20 years, but have not been playing in a band context for more than 10 years. I've continued to play, but now really want to join other musicians to play live, rehearse and maybe record. I've included a few videos of a band I was in back in the nineties. I like the idea of doing original material, but covers are fine as long as you do something new with it....I don't want to just copy what's been done before. Ideally I'd like to hook up with a good drummer and guitarist to start with, but keyboards, violin, trumpet .....or anything else in between is fine.

Influences

I'm a big Allan Holdsworth fan and also like similar genre players/bands. I like everything from Jazz, Fusion, classical...to rock and funk. I also like improvising.

My bass player hero's are Jimmy Johnson and Anthony Jackson. I love complex high energy music, but my main drive is for something harmonically and rhythmically challenging. I couldn't work in a three chord band!

EQUIPMENT

I've had a lot of different basses over the years, but now I play a Marleaux Consat custom 6 string bass (German custom made bass). It's the only bass I'd ever need. I play through a David Eden Metro bass combo with 2x10 xst ext cabinet. I don't really use any effects as I get a pretty awesome sound straight out the box.
