Hey there, 23/m/london guitarist here. I have 2 bands i wish to put together but depending on interest will probably only run with one of them....infact the 2 could quite easily end up bleeding together.
For both bands i want to create, dark beutifull inteligent music. Drawing influences from thrash, industrial and porgressive metal but also passing acknowledgments to jazz, latin, folk and classical music. I love the idea of clashing light and heavy music together. Also love simplicity and complexty together...so opposites and sudden changes of direction could be something to think about. But above all i want the whole package to be very atmospheric. For both bands i will be requiring bass, guitar, drums, keys and vox.
Ok band 1 is going to be a neoclassical inspired metal band. So anyone with a classical or operatic background is very very welcome here. Specific to this band im leaning towards female vocals though male will be considered....if we click we click.. As well as keys classical piano and harpsichord players would have a place....or of course a keyboard player able to recreate those effects! I also thought maby chello and violin would be a nice touch too. Bare in mind this is a metal band though. Also i want this band to be very visual and dramatic so there will be dressing up invloved!
Band number 2 is going to be a more straight up death metal band. No additional players particularly though (again this isnt set in stone) i would prefer a male vocalist able to sing both melodicaly and the standard death way. Lots of complicated heavy guitar sweeping into darkly beutifull acoustic melody.
So you can get an idea of what wavelength im on here are some of my influences: Tom waits, david bowie, tracy chapman, Meshuggah, lionel ritchie, opeth, early metallica, malmsteen, rammstein, dream theater, mum. I realy am not looking for the greatest musicians on earth....i dont care if you have been playing 2 years or 20 years. age is also un important. What i want is people who can get along with each other, write together...and just get it done, there are too many timewasters out there!
