Founder member and Lead Singer with mid 80’s Electro-Goth outfit: ONANISM. Gigged twice & home demos survive. From their demise SAMARIA GARDENS was formed, and I again took up mantle of lead singer. The band gigged several times in the Middlesbrough area & a single studio recording survives.
At around the same time became Bass player for madcap punk band DICK STIFF & the ERECTIONS, who had the dubious honour of being banned from every venue in Middlesbrough after only three gigs – a rough home demo recording is archived. Joined the remnants of THAT’S A RENAULT; a well established local band, as Bass player – although never gigged, 3 studio recordings have survived. After the split joined 10 piece ‘covers’ band NO BATTERIES REQUIRED as Bassist. The band was thinned to a seven piece and changed name to IN VOGUE; performing original material. Gigged extensively throughout the West Yorkshire area. By turns I appeared as Lead singer, Bassist & Keyboard player. Unfortunately only a rough working demo survives.
During this time I also played Double Bass with various Orchestras & Wind Bands, performing regularly throughout the Yorkshire area. I also managed to play Flugle Horn with the Clifton & Lightcliffe Brass Band, as well as jamming with a Jazz ensemble as String Bassist.
Shortly after that I was enlisted as Bassist for the Youth Theatre Northern production of “Paradise Lost”, playing resident for a week at the Leeds Grand Theatre.Thereafter I volunteered to play Bass for an amateur theatre production of “Grease” and soon afterward, with the same company, performed “Little Shop of Horrors”.
After a long time out of the music scene, I became Bassist for a local band, played 5 "gigs" in total and managed to record a 6 track Demo CD in a local Studio. Am now a free agent and am hoping to join or form a Band with like minded people. I have original material ready and waiting. Ideal line up would be Singer/Guitarist, Guitar, Drums & possibly a Keyboard/Synth player.
