There is currently no band as such, only myself and a bunch of theoretical players in my head. However, my project is, at least for now, specific enough to warrant my being on the site as a preconcieved band.I play guitar and sing to the best of my ability, which is not huge but earnest enough to get by(although I do quite a good chris Isaak impression, hear above :P.)I also have recording facilities enough to produce a demo of my work, which I am in the process of doing (sans proper drums). The music that I write and want to put into practise is a mixture of rock, electronica, folk and classical. For a number of years I've been chipping away at this 'album' I'm slowly constructing, which has a name, a rough tracklist and a very strong thematic focus (but is not, I hasten to add, a prog or concept album). What I want now are musicians who will help me finish it, groove it up and perform it. A high level of musicianship is not nearly as important to me as commitment, imagination, creativity and of course,'getting' what I'm up to, which is down to taste more than anything (see influences to see if we're looking in the same direction).

Influences:

Radiohead (rock, electronic, whatever, it's all good) are the big one for me, the reason I got into music in the first place and decided that 'that's what I should be doing'.I also love classical music (mostly 18th - 19th century) and renaissance choral music.I'm very....in touch with English folk sensibilities and a lot of my vocal lines are very influenced by the kind of 'pagan delicacy' that comes with it.Also: Early Leonard Cohen, Jeff Buckley, The Pixies, The Mars Volta, Tool, The Beatles,Queens of the Stoneage, Public Image Ltd, Love, The Arcade Fire, Can...and last but not least, Richard Cheese. Who isn't influenced by Richard Cheese?
