Currently playing bass with Jody And The Jerms, gigging and recording great indie-pop originals. Also record covers for my youtube channel (youtube/SamHutchinsonBass). I've been playing bass since 2014 and passed grade 7 during 2020.

I have basic piano/keyboard experience from when I was younger. It's given me a foundation knowledge of music theory which has helped speed up my progress on the bass.

I have a wide range of influences from rock, indie, dance/electronic, punk, pop, folk, reggae/dub, jazz, soul/funk and more. Some of my favourite bands are Lush, Joy Division, Daughter, Pink Floyd, Jah Wobble, Sink Ya Teeth, Talking Heads, Bjork, Pulp, PJ Harvey, Hot Chip, King Tubby, Linval Thompson, Miles Davis, Fela Kuti, Melt Yourself Down, !!!, Asian Dub Foundation, Faith No More, Led Zeppelin, Idles, Bis, Mogwai, Sleater-Kinney, Primal Scream, Orbital, Therapy?, Suede, Public Image Limited, and so the list goes on.
