Hi there - I've played in covers bands since I was 15. I started with 60's stuff but I now play pretty much anything. I prefer 80's music for covers as that's my era but in the true spirit of good function bands, I'm well versed in everything from the 60's to the present day (well not the very present day as most of it seems rather tuneless and not at all musical!)
For those that know, I was in Ten Feet Tall (well known Warwickshire covers band) from the start for a good many years and we all got back together a couple of years ago for the odd gig here and there.
I currently write original progressive pop music with my husband in our band, Fushi (we're seeking a guitarist if you know of one!) and we fit that in when we can.
I have 2 young children so I am not looking for a band with a heavy gigging schedule. Something once or twice a month would be perfect. I really enjoy playing and singing (lead or bv's) and want to get back into gigging more as being a Mum has meant this has taken a back seat for a few years.....and also being a mum, the money would be more than useful!
I have a Korg Wavestation and a Roland Fantom X7, my own mic and stand. I've always gone through the desk so don't have a combo/amp.
I have a car, can drive and can lift my own gear!
I don't do high heels and little black dresses but then I'm a keyboard player and not a front person! However, I have a wardrobe that would suit any gigging occasion and understand the importance of a band looking the part - especially for corporate stuff.
I am professional, always well rehearsed, very organised and generally a jolly nice person with a sense of humour!
