Roger Moisan studied Trumpet at Trinity College of Music, London with Iaan Wilson (Royal Opera) Norman Burgess (BBC Symphony) John Wilbraham ( Soloist/Clinician) and master classes with Hakan Hardenberger, Allen Vizutti, Maurice Murphy and Arturo Sandoval. Roger Moisan pursued a successful freelance career performing in a number of West End productions including Les Miserables, Copacabana, Me and My Girl, appeared at the Edinburgh Festival with 'Contemporary Opera' and recorded the premiere of Paul Barker's Opera 'La Malinche' for the BBC amongst many new works.
Roger has performed with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, London Philharmonic and countless festival orchestras and bands and has performed various solo recitals in London and the provinces, including a number of appearances with the Corelli Ensemble founded by the cellist Adrian Shepherd MBE performing concertos by Baldasare, Telemann, Vivaldi, Torreli and Purcell.
Roger has appeared on BBC television performing Haydn's Trumpet Concerto and is currently in demand as a trumpet player, soloist and composer for brass bands.
Roger Moisan holds the position of Principal Trumpet with the London Contemporary Music Group (LCMG – Covent Garden www.lcmg.org.uk ) and is active in the music education world teaching, coaching, directing and presenting clinics on technical mastery.
Classical influences are many and varied but Hakan Hardenburger, Wynton Marsalis, Maurice Murphy, Bud Herseth are main influences.
