ABOUT

Looking for musicians to jam with. Would like to form a band at some point, playing covers and/or originals. Have gigged a lot as a bass player, though most recently I've been playing covers and original materials as a solo acoustic performer at local open mics.

Former bass player and songwriter in Break Even, also played bass with I Alexander & The Irony, The Wrong Instructions.

Played guitar in The Nightmares.

Influences

I wouldn't necessarily want to play some of this stuff in a band or even by myself, but this is the stuff that gets or has gotten my hair standing on end over the years:

Prince, Nirvana, The Rolling Stones, Chuck Berry, Michael Jackson, The Offspring, Nine Inch Nails, Reuben, Ramones, Petrol Girls, Lianne La Havas, Prodigy, Mad Capsule Markets, Hinds, The Courtneys, QOTSA, Korn, Johnny Cash, The Clash, Elvis, The Cramps, Stax Records, Motown and all kinds of Soul, Otis McDonald, Warpaint, David Bowie, PJ Harvey, The Beatles, Ozzy

I would say my personal taste largely encompasses 50s and 60s garage rock and rock and roll, through modern soul, funk and pop through to modern alternative bands as these are the styles I listen to the most. I figure "Hey, you wouldn't want to eat only hamburgers for the rest of your life, right? Why only listen to one style of music?" I try to keep an open mind, while also doing my homework by paying my dues.
