Richard has been playing since the age of 4, and performing from the age of 7. He played his first musical production at the age of 9, and has been gigging in various bands and settings since then.
Through school, he was part of the Big Band, Jazz Ensemble, Wind Band, Percussion Ensemble and was the accompanying drummer for all choirs and other ensembles and groups.
After leaving school, he attended the ACM in Guildford for 1 year, and then progressed to being only 1 of 4 drummers accepted onto a specialist popular music course at the Royal Northern College of Music for 2 years.
He is incredibly versatile, playing pretty well all styles of music to a high standard. He is very happy playing live, in the studio or in a pit band. He is also a very competent reader and can play comfortably with a click track.
