ABOUT

Hi guys ! I'm Quentin, 24, French (from Lille, North of France). I'm living in London since June 2013 and came here especially for music.

I started music at the age of 6, with all the "classical music" education background (almost 10 years between the Conservatoire of Lille and independant music schools).
I'm able to write and read music (key of G), that kind of stuff.
But I mainly play by ear, I was told I had absolute ear. I play over pretty much anything (I recognize a F# from a G for example).

I started to play the guitar at the age of 10, 6 years of classical guitars, going along my "autodidact" learning of eletric guitar and step-by-step diving into rock and blues music... The Blues which lead me to play a bit of jazz (especially acoustic gypsy jazz from Django reinhardt).

In April 2014, I joined what has now became my band : High Safari (sun-kissed indie rock) Check us out !

I've played gigs in London with High Safari, from small suport slots to headlining at The Old Blue Last in December 2014. Other venues we've played include : The Finsbury, The Lock Tavern, Notting Hill Arts Club, Birthdays, The Stillery.

We've also recorded 4 tracks in studio which we'll realease over the summer 2015.

Influences

All the great rock n roll classics, no surprises : Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, The Beatles, The Velvet Underground... I listened and still listen to pretty much 70 years of rock music, from Robert Johnson to the last unheard of indie-pop band.

More than a particular genre of music, I believe in songs, songwriters and artists who brought something to the table, which is why I can like proper punks as much as a jazz genius.
