MUSICAL HISTORY
Expert tenor guitarist, with some four decades of stage experience under his belt. Additional basic keys, basic rhythm & bass guitar & ukulele. Percussionist of some sophistication. Functional background vocalist (baritone voice), if required.
My beginnings are in dixieland, Swing and early Bop. Also worked very happily with a couple of singer/songwriters.
SEEKING:
Trad, Swing and early Bop are my musical "roots", basically. But after several decades the old forms felt ever more predictable, at one point, and devoid of challenge. Standing more and more in the way of further development, as a matter of fact. So an as yet unfulfilled wish of mine is to break away from all that and to seek pastures new. Now, might there be any singer/songwriter/band, out there, offering me that chance?
WANTED:
weathered performers: confident accompanists and soloists who have been around the block a couple of times (irrespective of age) and don't have to be told much about ensemble playing. Repertoire: jazz standards and American Songbook to test the waters, in first instance. From there, anything goes...!

Key instruments: M-Audio 88 MkII MIDI controller; small GEM 5/7 keyboard with MIDI facilities.
Studio: Linux Kubuntu desktop; Zoom R16 console, 40 year old Tascam Porta 2 (pre-amp now, mainly), Sony cassette deck; key instruments as above.
