I am looking find members for my latest project, Cartwheel Ceilidh Band (see below) as well as find other projects to be involved in.

Me - the musician

I am a very committed musician, who enjoys playing live and recording and have played guitar-based instruments for 20+ years. I am organised, practical and motivated. I want to play with a band whose members are serious about quality, commitment and progress. I want to do paid gigs as this is part of my income.

“English Folk Dance Band with Added Colouring and Flavouring”.

Let me explain the angle:

This is a dance band for parties and functions, rewarding all its members financially after some initial rehearsal and promotional necessities. I’ve been playing in a folk duo for the last few years and do fairly frequent gigs in the Wiltshire area. Although budgets don’t always stretch to a full band, I want to establish Cartwheel Ceilidh Band as a punchy, modern, hardcore, infinitely-danceable-to Ceilidh band that will be a cut above the more sedate dance bands. This we can also achieve by being more experimental with arrangements and sound; blending in Rock, Ska, Funk, Jazz styles as well.

We will sign up with local and online agencies; getting regular gigs (all paid); developing a clear, unique sound; playing at parties, functions, medium venues, festivals. Further on down the line we will also record an album.

Lineup will be:

• Fiddle
• Guitar (lead and rhythm)
• Bass (vacancy)
• Drums and/or percussion (vacancy)

Possible addition of accordion or melodeon if we can stretch to it.
So, we are looking for a DRUMMER and a BASS PLAYER. We are not looking for musty, trad folky players. If you have a background in rock and pop music; we’re looking for driving, tight rhythm along with feel and dynamics that will make people want to dance.
