ABOUT

I have been playing drums and guitar for years. Drums is my performing instrument and I tend to write on the guitar and some piano. I can also sing - more back up then lead but happy to try either. I have worked in a variety of different bands from originals (funk pop, country / 60s rock, function band, covers bands). In the past I have played quite consistently for a number of years, several nights a week. Over the past few years (whilst living in London), I have focused more on the day job - music teacher- and less on gigging however I would like to get back into regular performing in either original and/or cover/ function type situations. I presently do some gigging though infrequent. I am looking for Good people, good music.

I like trying to write interesting pop, leading towards a bit more experimental, grandiose stuff. Then again I don't mind a good cheesy number either. Also dabble in writing for non pop oriented styles as well.

Influences

Quite varied I guess... open to most styles however have limited empathy for heavy metal. As for bands I have been known to listen to Living Colour, Midnight Oil, Floyd, Led Zep, Blondie, Smiths, Police, Wilco, Swervedriver, Helmut, Rollins Band, various jazz such as Miles Quintet, Bill Evans, Herbie Hancock, Art Blakey, Pat Metheny, John Schofield. I suffered with Jeff Buckley, celebrated with The Flaming Lips and got messed up with Mr Bungle. Neil Young, Supertramp, ELO. Love a big Swing or Latin band as well.
