Hey party people! I’m Mars, I’m a reformed American Ex-Pat with 10 years of formal vocal training, who's pretty much constantly singing (either quietly or loudly) to themself.
I've been singing in choruses and choirs for almost 15 years since the age of 10. I was also the lead vocalist in two separate bands throughout High School (2013 - 2018), an American Southern Gothic band called The Neverminders and a pop-punk cover band covering Paramore, twenty one pilots, P!atD, FOB, and Weezer called Discourse. Both broke up as I moved to the UK in 2018.
Since then I have performed at two music showcases as part of the Bath Spa fine arts music program as support to mates within the program. Accompanying a harp player and bass guitar with vocals (2019) and a piano player's final project showcase (2021).
I haven't had an opportunity to sing much since moving out of Bath/Bristol area in 2022 but would love to find a band in the Herts/London area in need of a backing or leading vocalist. I love most genres and can pick up a tune really quick. I studied creative writing and songwriting at uni and love to put my poems to music as well. I'm not the best at reading sheet music as I've learned by ear for so long but I've been practicing more often with it recently (since about 2021).
I've always hung around with musicians and have picked up a lot of gear along the way (as listed below). A lot were gifts as friends upgraded, but all are in great condition and ready to be used ;)
