Hi guys, I am a 26 yr old drummer, been playing for 15 years but off the band circuit for the last 3 or 4. Currently writing and recording bits and pieces on my laptop but desperate to meet some likeminded souls to try and bring it all to life. I grew up listening to and playing rock and metal but to be honest have found myself feeling more and more limited by particular genres and would love to just get as experimental and free thinking as possible with other chilled but passionate musicians. The stuff i am imagining/trying to write is a sort of 'train-of-thought' style of music - ever changing styles, keys, time signatures, whatever anybody involved likes thats fun and challenging to play all wrapped up in a (hopefully) coherent, original and very listenable musical melting pot.
I really just love so many different things and wanna see what it would sound like to play them all at once!
If any of this sounds interesting to you then get in touch - I'm looking for guitarists, a bassist, piano/keys/synths, trumpets and brass, strings, samples and loops, just about anything that makes a nice sound. The stuff I've written is entirely instrumental but I'd love to have a singer who reckons they can add something to the organised chaos.
These are the three things i really need from any interested parties - 1) You need to be competent enough to play the type of stuff listed as influences, particular skill and patience when working in unusual time signatures and general jazzy madness would be great. 2) You would need to really want to be involved and happy to dedicate the necessary time into learning/composing/rehearsing/eventually gigging, and 3) You would have be an all round sound-as-a-pound nice chap who doesn't take it all too seriously and is up for having a beer and a good time whilst making some exciting music.
I would love to find people to bounce ideas off and get this off the ground - I have one track finished I can send you on request if you think this sounds like fun.
