Hello, I am Douglas Rees, drummer, guitarist, songwriter (instrumentally) and bass player. I have more experience in Drumming than anything else and that is where my passion lays. Other instruments are mainly used for writing a recording. I am looking for a band mainly or musicians up for putting together a band, (genre will be discussed as I have versatile style) I have been playing drums since December 2006 and have developed my technique and style gradually every few months. Influences
I listen mainly to rock and metal, but since I am currently at Perth College I have surrounded myself with many styles and have experiences playing different styles. Main influence has always been Dream Theater and former drummer Mike Portnoy, who showed me so many skills in odd time sigs, fills, progressive grooves and other bands such as Rush, Led zep etc. A lot of my skill has come from listening to Christian metal, rock and hard rock such as Skillet, Fireflight, Nine Lashes, decyfer down, Thousand Foot Krutch, and best of all P.O.D. Also, to widen my skill, i have taken an interest in Hip hop music, just by doing drum covers of rap artists and dubstep music and using my own ideas to contribute to the songs.
