I am in a Funk band called Moody Fandoo. We are a funk/dance/rock band with a main focus on old school sounding funk with a solid danceable groove. We are currently looking for a guitarist who knows how to play funk, a lot of guitarists think they know how to play funk guitar but they turn up to audition and they play wanky jazz, and think that they should be playing solos all the time. FUNK IS NOT JAZZ. if you know what i mean and agree with what im saying then you should get in touch.
We have a session drummer, a sax player, trumpet player, bassist (me) singer, percussionist, and occasionally a scratch DJ (but only a couple of tracks)
You must have a sense of humour, not take offence when someone says you need to change something, have no ego (well some..it is funk after all), and always, always be up for a laugh. if you have no sense of humour then firstly don't contact us and secondly cheer the fu*k up!
So what are we looking for?
Well a good guitarist, a keys player and trombone or second trumpet player.
If you fancy being in a band whose sole intention is to make the whole audience dance like they've been possessed by the spirit of James Brown then get in touch.
We are all in our 20's so we would prefer someone to be in their 20 or very early 30's.
I know im sounding quite aggressive, but we are in need of confident and good guitarist. we have gig interest and songs ready to be performed and we need people asap. No timewasters please. if you're sh*t or even think you're sh*t but people have said you're good then don't contact us....coz if you think you're sh*t then you won't be able to let go and get into the groove as much as we want you to.
