ABOUT

I am an experienced bass guitarist based in Surrey. I have over 20 years experience which includes doing session work for a number of artist's, including album and live work for an international artist. I have also played in many different types of bands covering acid jazz, funk, rock, prog rock, blues, soul and country.
I am looking to join an established band of committed and talented musicians who want to produce a tight sound then perform and deliver it professionally. Equally important is to have fun and enjoy!
I am looking to do material like Steely Dan, Doobie Brothers, Bonnie Raitt, Beverley Knight, Billy Joel, Brand New Heavies, Incognito,etc.. too many to mention but tight crafted interesting and demanding material.
I am happy to rehearse once a week but have family and my own business so weekday evenings work best for me.

Influences

As far as bass playing: Paul McCartney, Mike Rutherford, Dick Nolan, John Entwistle, Pino Palladino, Nathan East, Chris Squire, Andrew Levy, Jimmy Johnson and not forgetting Le Sklar.

General musical influences: The Beatles (of course), The Who, Genesis, Yes, It Bites, Steely Dan, Doobies, Michael McDonald, Jellyfish, Crowded House, James Taylor, John Mayer, Judie Tzuke, Ron Sexsmith, Bruce Hornsby , Toto and Train. There are a lot of old names here, bear in mind they are influences that I looked up to when I was learning and developing and not necessarily what I listen to all the time now -there are some great contemporary artist's about!
