ABOUT

Hey there,

I'm a 33 yo Scottish male, who can sing with and without accent.
I used to play in alt prog-rock bands when I was younger (started guitar at 14, played in bands from 16-23), and tried a couple of projects over the last few years to try get back on stage and gigging/recording after moving down to Manchester some years ago.

I used to write songs for my own band, a number of demo's I've written and performed at home can be heard on my soundcloud, including the latest band I was in playing bass and doing lead vocals:

Influences

My influences range from acoustic, pop, prog rock, alt and sometimes even heavier things and dance/trance/electronic songs.

My own song writing influences growing up came from the likes of Fightstar, The Receiving Ends of Sirens, Brigade, Paramore, Mono, Mogwai, Union Sound Set, Explosions in the Sky, Bloc Party and Funeral for a Friend.

I'm into a wide variety of music and I'd be happy to just play guitar without needing to sing or write. These days I'm not particularly looking to perform in a rock band, and would consider playing Pop/Rock/Indie, basically anything that gets people up and moving!
