Experienced musician who has played in bands based in Leicester since 2009.
Indie rock band The Weekend Schemers was first. Playing bass, I avoided straight root note bass lines and incorporated a more alternative sound with the instrument, as well as backing vocals. (2009 - 2011)
Hardcore death metal band Glory For a Dead Man benefited from an input of slap/pop bass and bass chords to create the heavier, fuller and more percussive sound, while maintaining its melodic value. (2011 - 2012)
Glory For a Dead Man evolved into Piezo, an instrumental band that experimented with progressive styles. Rooted in a post-hardcore, math based style, techniques included slap-pop, tapping, chords, arpeggiating and sweep strumming the bass guitar. (2012 - 2015)
Through Piezo I started my solo project, Homeless Shakespeare, which features me writing, arranging and composing original songs as well as renditions of popular classics. I record, produce, mix & master all tracks and perform bass, guitar, vocals, harmonica, percussion and electronic arrangements on the tracks. No styles necessarily excluded. (2013 - now)
For a year between 2015 and 2016, I performed bass for indie Brit-rock band Revival, who gigged across Leicestershire in festivals, pubs and notably the O2 arena Leicester.
Currently, aside from Homeless Shakespeare, I perform bass and backing vocals for alternative rock band Siobhan Mazzei Band, which again incorporated various playing styles and high stage energy. (2016 - now)
I also play bass and backing vocals for Rock'n'roll blues band The Whiskey Chasers in Leicester, performing '50s, '60s and '70s classics, as well as original songs. (2016 - now)
Elysian, a jazz/soul duo, are currently working on a full band sound with me on 6 string bass and backing vocals. Performing originals, and classic covers including Stevie Wonder, George Gershwin, and White Stripes in funk, jazz and soul styles. (2017 - now)
As a session player, I have performed bass for 2Funky Arts projects at The Music Cafe in Leicester, including both live and studio work, where I have worked with professional artists (Project:LIVE) performing grime, hip-hop, trap, soul, jazz, and various other styles. The objective was to bring professional recording artists to a live band environment. (2 instalments, 6 artists, 2015).
As well as working with younger artists (Project:BAND) in a similar vein, both live and in the studio (2 instalments, 2016 & 2017, 10+ artists)
I have also played acoustic guitar for various singers, songwriters and artists including Carol Leeming, Cara Way, Loaneski, and more.
