The Beat Academy were created in March 2007 after Keith Lewington was asked by a work colleague if he would like to play at his wedding reception (and be paid, but don't tell the rest of the band)!! Following a few frantic phone calls to various musicians that he had worked with in the past, the band was born. They decided to arrange a few rehearsals at the School where Keith works and musically, everything just clicked. The band was originally only formed to play the one wedding but all the members decided that they enjoyed playing together so much and that the sound they had was so good that it would be a shame to not keep it going. (And a loss to Rock music as we know it)!! They are now getting ready to embark on the club circuit in the Berkshire area with their ever expanding repertoire, they can cater for most occasions, covering songs by artists such as... The Jam, Crowded House, The Rolling Stones, The Feeling, Maroon 5, Duran Duran and The Eagles.
