Academy of Contemporary Music graduate, John Joe Gaskin, has been Isaac Brown's mentor for the past decade, pledging his advice from thirty of experience; gigging, teaching and varied session work.

Isaac Brown can often be seen gigging around Nottingham with his band, Airport Dad (formerly Citrus). The Alternative Rock group have been together since the beginning of 2022, where gigs were quick to come. Across the year, Airport Dad have had over a dozen gigs across Nottingham, with their proudest hosted by Dean Jackson of BBC Introducing, holding 400 audience members.

Influences

Isaac Brown takes the most inspiration from, drummer of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Chad Smith. He was the first drummer Isaac Brown studied and revised, so his sound can often be heard in Browns playing. This goes as far as his preferred tuning for his snare. Often, like Smith, Brown desires a high tuned snare with a firm head to achieve highly responsive feel with a tight sound. Recently, Isaac Brown has been taking inspiration from Japanese Jazz Fusion, primarily studying the works of Josh Nesmith, drummer of Varra., though his favourite musician is Danny Elfman, of Oingo Boingo.
