I have played acoustic guitar just for fun at home since 1994. Started bass playing and singing older type rock and punk in 2003 and played a few songs at parties with a guitarist mate. Then I went to Rome for 2 years where I joined a very casual rock covers band as bassist. Played lots of practice sessions and a couple of pub jam nights in 2006 - 5 song set inclucing Sweet Child o Mine, Every Rose Has Its Thorn (vocals) and Born To Be Wild.
Am now back in UK but haven't played much for 2 years due to getting married, arguing with government over a Visa for my wife, and a car related legal problem. I would like to join a "just for fun" rock/punk/pop covers band in the Herts area but really want to pursue the lead vocal side of things (can sometimes even manage to sing and play bass at the same time!).
Mostly 80s and early 90s American Rock. Voice is best suited to lower/mid register type stuff (eg. rock like Dire Straits, Metallica, John Mellencamp, Black Crowes and older Bryan Adams stuff; 70s and 80s punk/pop like The Dickies, Dead Kennedys, Stray Cats and Billy Idol; modern country like Travis Tritt and Alan Jackson; or mellow AOR stuff like Don Henley, Dan Fogelberg and Tom Petty). I also do a pretty good rock n roll vocal in the Eddie Cochran / Del Shannon vein.
I need lots of practice so if you are about to tour the world, wait a few months before calling!
Aria Pro II Bass (no amp)
Ibanez Acoustic with pickup
Good gig standard mic & stand
Rubbish 80s drum machine (the famous one that looks like a ZX Spectrum)!
