ABOUT

I am an aspiring songwriter, and an OK rhythm guitar player. I sing and play guitar for my 3-piece band, the Funkyponkans, but only when I am back home in my home country, Philippines. We are a humble trio of guitar/vocals, bass, and drums, playing all original tunes. I wrote all of our materials, all in English. I can describe my music as a unique blend of jazz-blues-reggae-funk-and-acoustic. Honestly, I do not have any knowledge of music theory at all and purely self-taught, thus I am not that confident in putting myself out there. However my musician friends tell me I write really cool tunes, and I do believe so myself. I am not a good singer but I am happy to share my music with a vocalist or an open-minded band to make good music with. And so I was hoping to test the waters and put myself out there, thus this.

I would have to apologise for the quality of my recording and videos as me and my mates only get to play together like once in 3-5 years only when I get to fly home on holidays. I do not have any professionaly-done recording, but I am hoping that you'd listen to the structure of the music and not pay attention to my sloppy playing and amateur singing.

I am looking for inspiration and would want to rekindle my fire for songwriting again as it's been way too long that I've only been just a bedroom player.
