About
I am a 40 year old singer/songwriter/guitarist who is looking for a co-writer and musician for song-writing and recording projects. No live gigging - the aim is to compose original material as a duo/trio and maybe do studio album projects with additional musicians. And to have a lot of fun, of course (although the goals are serious to some degree, it doesn't mean world domination).
Harmony singing abilites and relatively experienced level of musicianship appreciated. No hard/heavy/indie rockers, please - must like acoustic or 70s stuff.
My ideal musical mix would be acoustic folk blended with bluesy English pop/rock and country-rock, maybe with a stroke of Chicago horn arrangements on some tracks; simple tunes mixed with more complex and deep compositions. I prefer moody songs with atmosphere rather than happy, jolly ones.
I also have a long time experience in designing book and album sleeves and CD booklets.
I live in the Bath area but location is not essential, especially as far as composing is concerned. Might be movin to East Sussex/Kent area later on in 2006.
Influences
Influences: 70s style a la Alan Parson's Project, McGuinness Flint, Gallagher & Lyle, The Band, Dan Fogelberg, Jackson Browne, Joni Mitchell, Steeleye Span, Ian Matthews, 10cc, late Beatles etc. One of my favourite albums of all times is 'Happy Birthday Ruthy Baby' with McGuinness Flint (1971).
