I'm an experienced bass player whose main project is an original metal band, however I'd like to work towards either joining an established cover band or start a band playing a set of covers roughly based around hard rock/alternative (maybe even a bit goth) and make a bit of income from playing bars and pubs etc.
My ideal band would be a mix of artists rather than a tribute- I don't just want to play all the really easy choices, I aim to make an interesting setlist that doesn't have me groaning before starting each song! I really want this to be exciting and fun for us as well as the audience, surely we've all heard Proud Mary enough times now.
My guitarist from my main project will likely be joining, so I need a drummer and vocalist who can learn the songs we choose in their own time and then blast through a few rehearsals to get tightened up before starting gigs. I can only do a couple of rehearsals a month once the setlist is solid as my main project still takes priority. No offense meant, just being upfront.
I'd like to play covers of songs by bands like The Stranglers, Blur, The Smiths, Killing Joke, Bauhaus, The Cure, David Bowie
A bit more modern- MCR, Biffy Clyro, Tool, SOAD, QOTSA. Open to lots of music, just a few examples.
