I love the juxtaposition that goes on inside this song ! The way that it starts out with this mournful, even bereft atmosphere, and then explodes into HIGH ROCK . . . and finally settling down again into the soft atmospheric ending. The mother of the girl who did the backing vocals for me commented that, " . . . it is not a jolly song !" But hey, it is what it is . . . an absolute ANTHEM ! The first time I heard it, it was the backing track that saw-out the ending of a Spiderman movie I had been watching on TV. I thought, " . . . what is . . . THAT ? " and " I'd love to have a go at that, whatever it is ". I got down on my knees up close to the TV screen to see what the rolling movie credits would tell me about it . . . " My Immortal - Evanescence ". I was hooked. Recorded at; Old Mill Recording Studios Ltd. 1 Stonehouse Road Strathaven South Lanarkshire ML10 6LF http://www.oldmillstudios.co.uk/customerServices.htm
