I have loads of influences from many differet genres, but am most interested in Funk,Hip hop, Rock/Alternative,Soul,Blues and Reggae/Dub. Here are just a few artists from each genre that i find influential.
Funk- James Brown, Parliment, Sly and the familly stone.
Hip Hop- Lyrics Born, De la Soul, Jurassic 5, jungle Brothers, Mos Def.
Rock/Alternative/punk- The Clash. Rage against the machine,Ben Haper,The rolling stones,Jeff Buckley, Chuck Berry,Eels, Audioslave, Jimmy Hendrix.
Soul- Marvin Gaye,Otis reading, The Temptations, Jackie Willson, Smokey Robinson, Aretha Franklin.
Blues- Howlin Wolf,Muddy Waters, Rl Burnside,Robbert Johnson.
Reggae/Dub- Toots and the Maytals, Bob marley and the Wailers,Lee scratch Perry, Bedouin Soundclash, Slightly stoopid, Jimmy Cliff. the aggrolites. The clash, THE SPECIALS. The slackers.
