I started learning bass during the first UK lockdown. Basically I can keep time, hit the root on 1 and I will turn up at the agreed time for any meeting or event lol.
I've got enough of an understanding of theory to write some decent basslines and I'm continually working on this. The stuff uploaded to my profile is mostly just me mucking about with grooves or simple chord progressions - I don't know much about how to structure a song, but if I know the key and progression I'm mostly able to keep up.
I really enjoy listening to jam music with a strong groove - this is ideally the kind of music I'd like to play but really I'm happy to learn any style or genre outside of really really heavy stuff. I'm at the stage where I want to develop into the bassist role by playing with other musicians, so I'm not precious about genre.

Flea of RHCP fame got me into bass in the first place (although I can't slap for sh*t)
