Laserchrist is a dirty, melodic psych-punk band based in south east London. Recording a self-produced, five-track EP aptly titled DIY-Bother? in 2018 and started gigging. Incredibly,
Alex Wonk (Wonk Unit) caught Laserchrist’s first ever show and agreed to put out DIY-Bother? on his label Plasterer Records pretty much as soon as they’d come off stage.
Over the years the band has worked hard developing a sound that’s instantly familiar yet recognisably all their own. It’s raw and energetic. Bitter-sweet punk rock with a psychedelic twist, honest, gut-wrenching melodies and a lot of heart.
In 2019 work began on a debut album but of course, lockdown(s) hit and life got put on hold. Still, work on the now self-titled album continued. And finally, it’s ready, due to be released on Little Rocket Records (UK) & Rad Girlfriend Records (US). Despite various lineup changes over the past few years, Laserchrist have toured the UK with the Flatliners (Fat Wreckchords) and continued to gig as much as possible.
