I am currently looking for musicians who are interested in taking part in something "a little different".
Currently we are in the process of setting up a band with an emphasise on bringing something different to the musical table. It does not matter if you are a violinist or a saxophonist, a keyboardist or a brass player, a guitarist or a singer. Hell even a piper will do. All that is required is that you have a love for playing your instrument of choice, and enjoy/are open to a wide variety of music, Scottish folk/jazz/pop/rock etc.
Don't worry about your skill level or experience either, I have access to composition software so the music can be arranged to suit the musician if needs be. In fact I encourage musicians of all levels to apply. All you need is an instrument, a good sense of humour and an open minded approach to music.
As far as the age range is concerned, I would prefer musicians within the range of 17-25, but to be honest this is not too much of a concern. As long as you have some method of transportation and feel comfortable about meeting with new people, then you are all good to go! The main aim would be to help improve and develop your own personal musicianship and experience, along with contributing ideas to the bands progression.
As for me, I am an intermediate cornet player, but I am currently studying arrangement and composition. I would definitely describe myself as an easy going and open person, and enjoy meeting new people who share my interests. Our band is steadily growing, and we already have a small number of easy going musicians playing a variety of instruments.
