im chris, im 27 and im looking to join or start a band on vocals. influences and sounds id like to be involved in are: born of osiris, lamb of god, stampin ground, arkangel, decapitated, special move, bury your dead, walls of jericho, prowler, sworn enemy, vision of disorder, torture killer, obituary, the red chord, enemy ground, misery signals, veil of maya, 50 Caliber, bloodbath, cataract, dying fetus, irate, merauder, meshuggah etc.
the kind of music ive been writing so far is beatdown orientated but not boring 'jun jun' beatdowns, im talking proggy, choppy hectic, kick someones head in kind of beatdowns!! ive been playing guitar for over 10 years now and while i dont play as much as id like to (hence me looking to switch to vocals) if i could join/start a band with people with the same ideas/influences then with me there would be an extra person to help with writing the music which can never be a bad thing.
i also have about 12 songs that i have very rough demos of from an old band that never took off, so they can be taken apart ripped/off whatever, and ive got countless ideas for songs in my head aswell.
ive played in quite a few bands over the years on guitar and have plenty of gigging experience (played in Immortal Rites and brief stint in 50 Caliber) and experience recording in studio aswell.
im attending uni at the moment so i cant afford to either transport my amps, or to rent one at practise so hence why im looking to switch to vocals, and im looking for a change aswell to be honest, i fancy having a scream!!
i live in thurrock but will be able to travel to east london, or further out into essex, southend probably being my limit due to travel costs at the moment.
commitment wise ill say this... i dont want to do a band with people that are ON IT. as im studying to be a psychiatric nurse and as part of my course i go on work placements so there will be times when i wont be able to practise week in week out (thats why an old band fell through unfotunately) so im looking to meet some chilled out people who like a laugh, and while will put effort into making music, wont take it too seriously that it will become difficult if we arent moving forward fast enough.
my aim is to hoook up with some people, start writing some songs, get some rough demos down/hit practise for some jams and then see about playing some shows here and there and then look into recording a 2 or 3 track demo. (i have cubase and drum kit from hell software so that can be used for demos. i only have a netbook tho so until i meet someone with a computer i cant start writing songs yet!!)
so if you like the bands ive listed and play any instrument or are in a band with those influences and need a vocalist then please get in touch. i really miss being in a band, and when we're making music you wont find many people more committed than me!
