We are looking for good humoured, proficient musicians who want to play (well) for the craic and complement a cracking rhythm section (well sod it, we are)!
We've got 40-50 covers in our portfolio and a few originals too, more than 40 years-worth of collective playing experience and we want to play the buggers!
We always turn up where and when we have to, with all our kit and a sense of humour. We certainly don't piss people about and then bail out when it looks like we're not getting it all our own way. This game takes effort and hard work from the rhythm section too, so give us a break!
Oh, and check out the sound files...they were recorded in a rush so they're warts 'n' all but it's all us ma!

Influences:

Melodic, tasteful, accomplished bass playing. Players who don't hide behind a low level bassy mush to hide inadequacies or please another band member with cloth ears.
Ring any bells?! If you've been doing this for a while, you'll know exactly what I mean.
A good selection of influences would be, in no particular order: John Entwistle, Bruce Foxton, John-Paul Jones, JJ Burnel, Norman Watt-Roy, Stax, Classic '60s & '70s Ricky and P-Bass sounds.

Equipment List:

Warwick Corvette $$ 4-string; Vester Clipper Thumb Bass copy (don't laugh, it's bloody good: check the sound files!); Ashdown ABM 500 amp + ABM 2x10 & ABM 4x10 cabs. Also own a set of fingers, a sense of humour, the odd pick and the ability to listen to what the song needs.

Members Of Band:

Neil Simpkin: Bass
Pete Scrivins: Drums
