Drums.ABOUT
We're looking for a drummer able to jam and musically open minded. Could contribute backing vocals (not essential). We play mostly our own songs with a few old R&B covers, wishing to strike a balance between jamming and being concise. A drummer somewhere between Charlie Watts, Mitch Mitchell and Levon Helm.
We're doing our own thing influenced by blues music, country music, folk music, soul and modern things like Cass McCombs and Kurt Vile. But really just want the freedom to play through elements of all of our influences but be ourselves. We both have a lot of gigging and recording experience and want to be gigging regularly.
Tom plays (tries for) somewhere between that Rick Danko anchored style and Phil Lesh's freeform. (tom says) George plays like he was a redneck in one life, a blues man in the next and now he's here not really knowing where he is. He sings a bit like someone like JJ Cale.
