With almost a life-time of listening to music, from Santana, Pink Floyd and Yes from the age of 5 or 6. I have always been into music of various kinds from the aforementioned through to The Beatles, David Bowie, The Sex Pistols, The Jam, The Mighty Wah! and Joy Division as a teenager. Prefab Sprout, Prince and Paul Weller in my twenties. And latterly, to Cinematic Orchestra, Bonobo (the Ninja Tunes stable), Jose Gonzalez and Ben Howard.
My first guitar was part of a starter kit containing a pic, a cd, and tuner and tutorial book from Aldi within 6 months of picking up the guitar, I joined my first band The Fabulous Bleach Boys. I first took up the guitar in 2007, I am now 49 and as old as the dads that go to your festival. Music is now my only source of income.
As the Moody Groover, in my weekly gigs, I play tracks from the sixties, seventies and nineties mainly. My own tunes, groovy rhythms and lyrics and are drawn from all the influences around me today, like current affairs and experiences from my past. Music always reminds me of what was happening in my life at the time, good or bad,
So, hopefully with the set I put together, I can take people back to a positive time in their lives and may be some of my songs will remind them of the good time they had when they first heard them.
